Room was ok and clean, little bit old in style, but absolutely ok. Good bed. The bathroom was small but ok. TV has many channels, but now was in english. The breakfast was not very good and small. Served outside the hotel. All this is the real Thailand. Location was not to great, since it was little bit far from the city centre. The good part is that it s close to the busterminal. The bar and nightclub was closed (in the high season!) Overall a fair good hotel to spend some days if you don t expect too high standards. Could have played a game of football in there!Minus points - they now have internet in the lobby (previous reports said no internet), but found it impossible to send eMails although could receive them. 2 good internet cafe s over the road which were also cheaper by the hour - the Expat one also sells coffee.Shower was poor, with only mounting bracket at bath-tub height, so either had to sit in the bath or hold shower nozzle with one hand.Plus points - Clean and tidy, daily room service very good. Staff very friendly and fun, both in reception and the restauarant / bar. We actually had the same VIP room we had when we stayed there in 2000. Except for some new furniture, it was essentially unchanged since then. Overall, the hotel is clean and comfortable, but I believe it is overdue for an upgrade. In particular, the bathroom needs to be modernized. Additionally, the hotel needs to provide Internet Access in all of the rooms, as well as in the lobby and restaurant areas. Aside from those items, I like the hotel and will certainly stay there again.
